This notice explains what personal information Hafiz Abdul Baqi & Co collects through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It applies to habandco.com. It does not cover information you give us in the course of an existing retainer, which is governed by our engagement terms and by our professional obligations of confidentiality.
What we collect
We collect only what you choose to send us. If you complete the enquiry form or email the firm, that means:
- Your name
- Your email address, and your telephone number if you provide one
- Your country of residence, if you provide it
- The area of law you select
- Whatever you write in the body of your enquiry
Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry, to assess whether the firm is able to act, and to carry out the conflict checks we are professionally required to perform before accepting instructions.
We do not use enquiry details for marketing, and we do not send newsletters or promotional messages unless you have separately asked us to.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own purposes, and we do not transfer it to anyone outside the firm except where it is necessary to act on your instructions, or where we are required to do so by law or by a court.
Confidentiality and privilege
Please note an important limitation. Information you send before the firm has confirmed in writing that it is able to act is not covered by legal professional privilege. A conflict of interest may exist that we are not yet aware of.
For that reason, do not send confidential or sensitive material through this website until we have confirmed that we can accept your instructions. An initial enquiry should describe the nature of the matter, not its detail.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become instructions are retained only as long as is needed to deal with the enquiry and to maintain our conflict records, and are then deleted. Where we are instructed, the file is retained in accordance with our professional obligations and our engagement terms.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not profile visitors.
The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers to fetch them. That request will include your IP address, as any request to any server does. We receive nothing from it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and email in particular is not a secure medium. If a matter is sensitive, telephone the chambers rather than writing.
Your choices
You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete an enquiry. Write to the firm using the contact details on this site and we will deal with the request.
Changes
We may update this notice as the site changes — for example if an enquiry form handler or analytics is added. The current version is always the one published here.
